A Line Is Being Drawn (Part 3)
Read: Revelation 22:11–12
Welcome once again, dear readers of CDM's devotional. As this week unfolds, may your heart remain open to God, and may you grow in wisdom, strength, and purpose. As we continue, there is something important we must not miss in this passage: before the line is finally drawn, mercy has already been speaking…
"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still… and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still… And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me…" — Revelation 22:11–12
Welcome once again, dear readers of CDM's devotional. As this week unfolds, may your heart remain open to God, and may you grow in wisdom, strength, and purpose. As we continue, there is something important we must not miss in this passage: before the line is finally drawn, mercy has already been speaking.
God is not quick to close the door on anyone. Throughout Scripture, we see His patience, His calling, His warnings, and His invitations. He gives time for repentance. He gives space for change. He sends His word again and again — not to condemn, but to redirect. But there comes a point where repeated choices become a settled path.
That is why this Scripture sounds so final: "let him be… still." It reflects a condition where a person has continuously chosen a direction until it defines them. Not because God refused them, but because they refused to turn. This is what makes today so important.
Right now, you are still in the place where mercy speaks. You can still respond. You can still adjust. You can still say, "Lord, I choose Your way." No matter what yesterday looked like, today is still an opportunity. There is an African proverb that says: "When the road is still open, choose the right path before it narrows." That wisdom speaks directly to this moment. The narrowing is not to trap you; it is the natural result of repeated decisions.
God's desire is not that anyone remains in darkness, but that all come into His light. His call is not harsh; it is loving, but it is also urgent. So the question is no longer just about standing firm if you are already walking in righteousness. It is also about responding if you know there are areas in your life that need to change. Do not delay what you already know God is asking of you.
Because one of the greatest gifts God gives is the opportunity to choose Him — freely, sincerely, and wholeheartedly. And when you respond to that call, everything begins to shift. Direction changes. Peace returns. Purpose becomes clearer. That is the power of responding while mercy is still speaking.
I pray that as you continue through this week, may you not ignore the gentle voice of God. May you respond with courage, walk with clarity, and live with purpose. May this be a week of right decisions, renewed strength, and deeper connection with God. Have a blessed and fulfilling week ahead. Pray now!!!
